A Different Way
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us…”
- Romans 12:4-6
- Romans 12:4-6
As we talked about yesterday, those of us who are Christians and following Christ are a part of God’s team. And each of us have been blessed by the grace of God with special gifts, abilities, and talents that are unique to us. This is because God has a special plan and purpose for our lives. But what we must remember is just as God has a special plan for us, He has a special plan for others, too.
We live in a world that constantly wants to compare. This social media era has turned so many people into “experts” in areas they are not truly qualified to talk about. But nonetheless, everyone seems to have an opinion about everything others are doing. But the reality is, God might have someone else on a path that is totally different from you, and that is OKAY. In fact, it is more than okay, it is GREAT!
He made all of us very different. We are all created to do different things for His Kingdom. You might know someone who is going about their path totally different than you are yours. But that is okay. It does not mean they are in the wrong. It also does not mean you are in the wrong. It is just a different way.
The verse we find in Romans 12 is well known. As believers, we have heard that we all have different gifts, but what we forget is that we also have different paths. The next time someone you know is following God a different way than you, do not be quick to judge. God might be doing something totally different through them. Aren’t you glad you serve a creative God that made us all different?
Be grateful for your path, but don’t judge others just because they do it a different way. As long as they are doing it God’s way, that is all that matters!

This is so true! Many do not understand how Gods gifting allows me to show His love through bodybuilding! I often wonder why this sport & why me at my age??? I am learning to embrace & not question as He reveals His love & compassion for those who may be spiritually or physically unhealthy. This is my mission for as long as God chooses to use me.
