Your Story Is Great
“Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth— to every nation, tribe, language, and people.” (Revelation 14:6)
Do you share the gospel with others? If not, why? Are you afraid? Are you worried about things getting “awkward?” Or maybe you don’t want to make someone mad, or uncomfortable. These are answers many believers have as to why they do not share the gospel. Maybe you think, I don’t share it like a pastor would...
But have you ever thought about sharing your story? That is right, sharing your story and how God changed your life is the gospel. What God has done in your life is an example of what He can do for others. Your story is a great story. You may not have been rescued from drugs but there’s no such thing as a boring testimony.
You may have gotten saved at 5 years old. That’s still a great testimony. Do you know why? Because Jesus changed your life. No matter what your story is, it is a story worth telling. God has given you circles of influence that you could leverage that story into. You have been appointed and anointed to share Jesus with people.
This does not mean that you have to be a preacher and get behind a pulpit. It also does not mean you have to move to another country and become a full time missionary. You can simply start by sharing your story. God changed your life, and He can do the same for those around you. You never know what part of the story will stick with someone else. Maybe you have gone through something you don’t even understand why you had to go through. But later you find out it is so that when you share your story, your experience will speak to someone else.
If you are a follower of Christ, you have a story to tell. And your story is a great story. Start to look for places and ways you can share, because you have no idea who needs to hear your story, and what it will do for their life!

Ed, I just want to thank you for your thoughts today; for the longest time since even before I’d been thinking “Maybe God is real?!” and/or “Whoa maybe Jesus came down for ME?! Amazing!!” I’ve been sharing my story simply because I’m on fire to let people know it’s okay to have tragedy and NOT get/stay bitter or victim mode afterwards.
As a “baby believer” now that I am coming to understand Christ and why the sacrifice and all, my biggest fear has been “What if I’m not doing enough? What if that will make God mad with me, now that I believe?” and so to hear that we need not know Word to give by chapter and verse or even the full history of Jesus’ life to share the idea of “Look, here’s why I believe in and why I think God is awesome…” AND that that non-biblical retelling of OUR story “counts” towards God’s desire for us to spread the good news?
Once again Sir you’ve done made me happy all anew, that I’ve been found and am thirsty for to go deeper daily in my personal relationship with my Father who art in heaven. May God richly bless you, for I don’t think I can say “thanks” enough. 🙏🏽
