No Mas
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.” (Revelation 19:1-2)
There was a boxing match that took place in 1980 that was billed as “The Super Fight,” between Sugar Ray Leonard II and Roberto Duran. In the highly anticipated matchup, Leonard was named the winner by a technical knockout (TKO) in the eighth round. But the story of the night was not the knockout, but what was said that led to it.
Howard Cosell, who was calling the fight, said that Duran uttered the words “no mas” or “no more” as he wanted the fight to stop. Now, Duran denies ever saying those words and there has been much controversy about it, but the moment and the words became iconic. They are words used across the sports world know whenever a beat down takes place as a sign to stop the hurting.
Though Satan and his demons will have their moment during the tribulation, there will be a “no mas” moment even for them. And when that time comes, it truly will be “no more” for the evil one. When that day comes, there will be no more heartache and no more pain. There will be no more suffering, no more depression, no more stress. There will be no more losing those you love or hurting when someone else hurts.
The time of pain and heartbreak will end. There will only be peace and love that remains. Heaven will be a place that is pure and wonderful. There will be no room for the evil of Satan and his demons. Much of Revelation is about the destruction they will do and what will happen to the earth during this time.
But make no mistake about it. Not only will Jesus win, but there will be no counterpunch. Satan won’t come back again and do... no, he won’t come back. He will be done. No mas. As great as the victory of the Lord is, it is even greater knowing it is the end of the war of good vs. evil. When the end times come, they will be devastating for a time, but only a time. Then there will be no more, “no mas.”
