A Spirit of Power
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” - 2 Timothy 1:7
As we stated yesterday, God does not give us a spirit of fear. If we are fearful or lack faith in some area of our life, that is us listening to the enemy and believing that God is not in control and will not take care of us. But instead, we can know He will always provide because that is the type of God He is.
What He has given us is a spirit of POWER, LOVE, and SELF-DISCIPLINE. These are the things we are going to look at over the next three days. See, we do not have to live in a spirit of fear, because the God we serve is in control of everything. That is right. He has the power to do anything He wants at any time He wants.
That is pretty cool, right? To know the God we serve, our Heavenly Father, can snap His fingers and change our circumstances completely? This is why we never have to fear, because He has the power to turn it all around. It does not matter what the circumstance or situation is that you find yourself in. God can and will make a way for you!
Are you stuck in what seems like an endless pattern of addiction? God has the POWER to change that. Are you struggling to make ends meet and provide for your children? God has the POWER to change that. Are you tired of your deadbeat job and feel like you aren’t living up to your full potential? God has the POWER to change that.
And because HE HAS THAT POWER, WE HAVE THAT POWER. God wants you to experience the spirit of power accessible to us as His children. That’s right, you can live with the spirit of power, because the one who is in control is your Father, and He is also the one directing your path! When you follow Jesus and His will, you can claim the power of God in your life!
I want you to walk today in a spirit of POWER, not because of who you are, but because of whose you are!
