Who Are You Believing For?
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” - James 1:2-4
Have you reached your breaking point? Are you waiting on God to do something that He has been promising He will do in your life, maybe for as long as you can remember now? You say, “Pastor, I have read these devotionals the last two days, and I know the Lord promises victory, but I just don’t see it. He hasn’t done it after all this time, and I just don’t think I can wait any longer.”
I want you to know, I understand you. I get where you are at. As believers, we all find ourselves, at one point or another, waiting on God for what seems to be forever. But I want to ask you a question…
Who are you believing for? Who is watching you and your faith journey? Who is looking up to you and aspiring to be like you? Who is judging you, waiting for you to slip up and prove that your faith isn’t legit? Who is watching? Who are you believing for?
When we think only of ourselves, it might be easy to give up. We feel like we are the only ones who will be affected by our choice, and maybe that is a choice we think we can live with. But the reality is, our decisions never affect just us. The truth is, someone is watching you, and they need your victory…maybe even more than you do.
Your faith has inspired them, challenged them, convicted them, or sparked their curiosity. Your faith is being watched. And those watching see what is unfolding in your life. They want to know how you are going to handle it. You keep praying and God keeps holding out on you. What are you going to do?
Who are you believing for? Will you stand strong through even the most difficult times? Will you be an example, maybe THE BEST example, of Jesus Christ in the eyes of those watching you or following you? Your faith is being put to the test. Who are you believing for?
