Tomorrow
“Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.” - Proverbs 27:1
If the Lord came back tomorrow, would you be ready? As believers, this is something we hear about often. “You are not promised tomorrow.” Yet, how truly do we believe this concept? So many people take the air they are breathing for granted. They believe they will live until they are old, as if it is just guaranteed.
But what if it wasn’t? What if tomorrow was your last day? You might be saying, “Pastor, why would I spend time on that depressing thought?” But whoever said it had to be depressing? It doesn’t have to be death. What if Jesus came back tomorrow?
Matthew 24:36 says, “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.” The truth is, we have no idea when Jesus is coming back. So, that being said, what if it is tomorrow?
Are you content with where your life is right now if Jesus interrupted it all and came back this instant? Have you lived to your utmost potential? Have you served Him in a way that is pleasing and honoring to Him? If not, what are you waiting for? Proverbs 27:1 reminds us, “Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.”
You never know when that final day will come. The question is, will you be ready when it does? Are you ready now? If not, don’t wait! You are not guaranteed 5, 10, 15 more years of your life. There is never a better time to change than RIGHT NOW! The Lord is coming back.
It could be today, tomorrow, or anytime. When He does, don’t you want to be content with the life you have lived? Start today! There is no better time than the present to live the life God intended for you!
