He Will Disrupt You

“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” - Proverbs 19:21

When it comes to the situations and circumstances in your life, God is the one who is in control. As believers, we know this. We know that things do not happen by “accident.” God has His hand in everything we do. As we have said He is either orchestrating or allowing our circumstances to unfold in the way that they do.

But there is actually a third option: God does not just orchestrate or allow things in our lives. Sometimes He DISRUPTS our life. That is right. Sometimes, God disrupts the current flow of our lives, turns things upside down, and changes everything!

Why does He do this? Because He wants to get your attention. He wants to remind you of who you are dependent upon. He wants to disrupt the sinful acts you are indulging in, and He wants to take you out of your comfort zone and push you to a life of more!

God will disrupt your life for many different reasons, but He does so because He wants you to live the purpose-filled life He designed for you. Sometimes we can get into a routine and find ourselves slipping away from the destiny God intended for us.

When we find ourselves in this state, God just might come and disrupt everything. God orchestrates, He allows, but He also disrupts. And He is not afraid to disrupt your life. Have you ever experienced a time when God flipped your life upside down and disrupted everything?

You might even have thought your life was great and nothing was wrong, so why did He have to go on changing everything? Like everything else, God has a purpose for all that He does. And that purpose is for your good. Proverbs 19:21 tells us, “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
