Even More!
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” - Romans 12:2
Today, we look at the fourth reason that God will disrupt your life. We have already looked at three reasons God will step in and flip things upside down: to grab your attention, to remind you of your need for Him, and to remove habitual sin from your life. But there is one more I want us to look at today.
Sometimes, God will disrupt your life even when you are doing nothing wrong. He might have your attention. You are in His Word, going to church, praying consistently, and doing everything you need to be doing. You even know that you need Him. You acknowledge that need every single day! And though you have a sinful nature like all human beings, you are quick to ask for forgiveness and repent from those sins.
So then why would God disrupt your life? Maybe God wants even MORE for you! Sometimes God will disrupt your life and push you beyond your comfort zone because He sees even more potential in you than you see in yourself.
Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
You see, God doesn’t desire you to live the life everyone else is living. Sometimes, we can get so caught up in trying to do what everyone else is doing that we forget God has a specially designed plan just for us!
Maybe you are in a season of life in which God has disrupted your world, and you can identify with the person we described above. He has your attention, you know you need Him, and you aren’t living a life filled with sin. If that is you, I have good news, my friend: God is not disrupting your life to punish you.
Instead, it is the exact opposite. God is disrupting your life because He wants to give you even more! He wants you to live with MORE purpose, MORE meaning, and MORE abundance! Praise Him for a life of even more!
