Not For Everybody
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” - John 15:18-19
As we continue to look at this idea of a “prophet,” you must understand something. Remember, you do not have to prophesy something out of the blue to share the truth God has placed in your heart. You might not be responsible for “coming up” with the messages God wants you to speak.
Not everyone’s purpose is to be a pastor. But you do not have to get up in front of an audience at church to be able to impact others for the Kingdom of God. Whatever you do, wherever you are, you can speak the truth God has put on your heart and impact those around you. That is exactly what God wants you to do!
Now, when you share the truths that God puts on your heart, you will not always be liked. The prophets of the Bible were not liked by everyone. Some people even despised them. But God does not call you to be liked, He calls you to be obedient. The truth is, when you share God’s Word, some will be inspired, some will listen but not be moved, and some will dislike what you are saying.
Sharing the truths God has put on your heart will make you someone who is “not for everybody.” But that is OKAY. Again, God’s number one concern is not that you are liked by everyone. The truth is, no one is liked by everyone. There will always be those who are fans of you, those who are jealous of you, and those who are in disagreement with you.
But if they are in disagreement with God, they are just flat-out wrong. Let God handle that and be okay with being someone who is not for everybody. Because when you worry less about who likes you and worry more about saying what God has put on your heart, you will have more impact than you ever imagined possible!
