Godly Goals
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” - Proverbs 16:3
What are your goals? What are you doing with your life? Where are you going? Do you have a direction? What are you pursuing? All of these are good questions to ask yourself. The answers might just tell you where you are headed. The next question I would ask you is this: Are your goals godly goals or selfish goals?
In other words, are your goals to bring God glory or to bring you glory? If you are a believer, you are no longer of the world. You are not chasing the same things the world is chasing. They are chasing things like money, power, fame, status, and nice possessions. But these are not the things God has called us to chase.
Now, they might be a by-product of what God has called us to do. God might put you in a position that gives you status or power. He might give you a job that pays you very nicely, but these are all resources that He will use in your life. They are not the end game, but instead a vessel for His ultimate purpose.
Having goals is a great thing. But it is when those goals are “godly goals” and are committed to Him that you will truly find success. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
God wants you to succeed. But He wants you to succeed His way. When you dedicate your goals to Him and align them with His will, that is when He will bless you and allow you to succeed. You don’t want to be frustrated, continuing to make goals and plans that fail. But when you are not following the will of God, that is what can happen.
Make your goals God’s goals, and you will succeed! It really is as simple as that.
