Fully Known
“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” - 1 Corinthians 13:12
Did you know that God fully knows you? That’s right. He knows everything about you. That is a big statement. It might seem obvious but think about it – no one on this earth fully knows you. There are parts of your life that are hidden from everyone, even those you love.
The people in your life haven’t been with you every second of every day. They don’t see all the things you do; they don’t know all the things you think about; they don’t know every dream and wish you have. It’s impossible. Not to mention there are certain things we like to leave hidden depending on who we are around.
And yet, God knows ALL OF IT. From the number of hairs on your head to every last thought you’ve ever had, He knows what you do when no one is around. He knows what you are thinking even when you hold your tongue, and what you want even when you don’t express it. He knows where you struggle, and what insecurities you try to hide.
1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”
He knows you completely. And the best part is, knowing everything about you, He loves you more than anyone else ever could. How amazing is that? If you have grown up in church, you have heard Jesus loves you (a whole lot). And it is easy to think past that truth.
But now, think about your entire makeup. Who you are, and who you are not. What you have done, and what you have failed to do. What you have said, thought, and acted upon. The things no one knows about you...ALL of it. Knowing every bit of that, Jesus loves you more than you can comprehend.
Thank the Lord today that despite knowing everything about you, He loves you more than you can imagine! Thank Him that His love is never-ending!
