Love Wins
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
I want you to know something today...love wins. I know, I know...it sounds cliché. But it’s just the facts. Because no matter what you do, God’s love for you will always trump it. A couple of weeks ago we talked about how you “can’t out-sin God.” That is because His love overcomes our shortcomings.
Even when we choose instant gratification over Him, He still loves us. Even when we fail to obey Him and do our own thing, chase the things of this world, or decide to honor our own wishes over His, He still loves us. And that love is a love that wins.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 gives us a picture of what real love truly is. It says,
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
The Bible speaks of this type of love because that is the love God has for us. He is patient and kind to us. He is not arrogant or rude. He never rejoices at our wrongdoings. He bears all things, He hopes the best for us. He helps us endure, and most importantly, no matter what we do, His love never ends.
Jesus advocates for you. He accepts you. And He loves you. After creating you, knowing everything about you, your every thought, your every action, your every wish, He accepts you. And He loves you.
No matter what you do, He loves you. And that love WINS every time!
