God Pursues You... Continually
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” - 1 Peter 2:9
God chases us. God loves us. And God pursues us. That’s right, He doesn’t just chase us before we give our lives to Him, but He continues to pursue us day after day. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
As a child of God, you are chosen by Him. And that means that He takes responsibility for your life. You might get off the track from time to time, but He never lets go of you. He will continue to pursue you no matter where you are or what you have done.
If you are in His Word, obeying His commands, generously giving to His Kingdom, He is still pursuing you. If you gave your life to Him and have gone off the rails, sinning, chasing after the things of this world, He is still pursuing you. And if you are somewhere in between, He is still pursuing you.
When you belong to the Father, He never stops pursuing you. He chased after you when you were at your worst, and He continues to pursue you day after day. That is because He loves you.
Aren’t you thankful for a God whose love isn’t based on performance? Aren’t you grateful for a Heavenly Father who doesn’t just love you when you are at your best, but pursues you even at your worst? He is a God full of mercy and grace, not because we deserve it, but because He loves us, He is always offering it.
No matter where you are in your walk with God, He will never stop pursuing you. Thank Him today for never giving up on you, even when you give Him a million reasons why He should. The grace of God is endless!
