What’s Different?

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” - Philippians 2:3-4

Have you ever wondered how you can make a greater impact for God’s Kingdom? For some believers, it might be something they rarely think about. But for those who are on fire for God and really want to make a difference, your mind can get to really thinking about, “what am I doing to advance God’s Kingdom?”

One thing you can do RIGHT NOW that would gain immediate attention is to love differently. You say, “Pastor, what do you mean love... differently?” As we mentioned yesterday, there are people who talk about loving someone, but their actions just don’t back them up. They might truly love them, but are they loving others more than themselves?

Many people just don’t demonstrate that type of love. They say they love others more than themselves, but their actions don’t defend the claim. When you place others above yourself, people will notice because it is different.

We live in a world where everyone wants to take care of number one. When everyone looks out for themselves, you should look out for others. It is not just about the attention you will gain. But that attention is a platform that will allow you to point others to Jesus.

Philippians 2:3-4 says, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

When you care about others more than yourself, people will take notice. They will wonder, what is different about that guy? About that girl? Why are they like that? And that is when you have an opportunity to share the love of Christ. Are you different?
