The Disease of Tomorrow
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” - Proverbs 27:1
Yesterday, I asked you the question: what are you waiting for? See, God has a special plan and purpose for your life. He wants to do something incredible in and through you. And make no mistake about it…that plan is custom designed for you. It is not for anyone else. But He needs you to act.
He needs you to step forward and make the commitment that you are going to pursue His will. For most people, God’s will is not something you just sit back and wait for. It’s not like you sit in your recliner and one day God throws a job or an opportunity at you while you’re sitting in your chair.
You have to actively pursue Him. But when you do, you will realize there is nothing greater in life that you can do than follow the will of God. So, what are you waiting for?
For many, what is holding them back is the disease of tomorrow. There are many diseases we think about it. It can be a physical disease, it could be the disease of addiction, or heck, some even think scrolling through social media is a disease.
But I want to warn you about the disease of tomorrow. For so many, they have a plan to start. They have talked about it, maybe even shared it with those closest to them. They know what God has called them to do, and they have great clarity about it. They have made their plans, crossed their “T’s” and dotted their “I’s.”
So, why haven't they started? If you ask them, they will tell you “I’m starting tomorrow.” And yet, that is the same answer they will give the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that.
Does this sound familiar? If so, you must be careful. Proverbs 27:1 says, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
None of us are promised tomorrow. You might not have tomorrow. Don’t wait. If God is calling you, act NOW. Start TODAY!
