God’s Spiritual Gifts
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.” - 1 Corinthians 12:1-2
Did you know that God gives each of us spiritual gifts? That’s right, as a believer, you have been given a gift (and maybe even multiple gifts) to use for God’s Kingdom. He gives us these gifts as tools to bring others to know Him.
1 Corinthians 12:1-2 says, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.
It is important that we understand this and that we figure out what our gifts are. You could have the gift of prophecy. Your gift might be serving others, teaching others, or leading others. You might have an administrative gift or the gift of public speaking.
There are many different types of gifts God gives us, but what we must understand is exactly what this verse says; we must know that God gives us spiritual gifts and we must not stay uninformed.
There isn’t much value in a gift that is never opened, right? Just like there is not much value in a gift that is unused.
What is your spiritual gift? Do you know what it is? Or are you still trying to figure it out? If you don’t know, ask God to give you clarity about the gift(s) He has given you. If you ask, He will reveal it to you.
If you already know what your gift is, the next question you need to answer is, how are you using it? Are you using it for your name or His name? God gave us these gifts to bring glory and honor to Him. Remember today why you have the gifts you do and be intentional in using them for the One who gave them to you!
