Faith Sets You Apart
“And Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.’” - Mark 11:22-24
When you give your life to Christ, He sets you apart. God doesn’t desire for His children to “fit in” with the rest of the world. He wants us to stand out! He doesn’t want us to stand out for our own notoriety or fame, but for HIS.
Everything we do as believers should point others to Jesus Christ. That is our mission and that is our purpose. But what does that look like? We can say “you are supposed to be different” all day. But that is like saying “you’re supposed to make the shot” in a basketball game.
DUH. Of course, you are supposed to make it. Now how do you actually do that? How do we actually stand out? Well, we stand out through FAITH. See, faith isn’t easy. Many people only believe in what they see. Everyone can identify and speak about something they saw. There is nothing special or “set apart” about telling someone what you saw.
But what will set you apart is trusting and believing in what you don’t see. In Mark 11:22-24 Jesus says, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
How powerful is that? That the mountains would move if you truly had faith. We panic when things aren’t going well, but who doesn’t do that? Do you want to be set apart? Trust God. Have faith even when things don’t look good. Trust and know He will take care of you.
It is faith that will set you apart!
