He Abides in You
“But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.” - 1 John 2:27
When God anoints you, He doesn’t just leave you on your own. We have spent much of the last couple of weeks talking about God’s purpose and plan for our lives. When God gives you His purpose, His plan, and reveals the spiritual gifts He has blessed you with, it can be a super exciting time.
But He doesn’t stop there. He doesn’t just give you these things and send you on your way. God abides in you throughout your spiritual journey and your faith walk through life.
1 John 2:27 says, “But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.”
According to John, God doesn’t just anoint you. He teaches you everything you need to know, and He remains with you the entire way. Isn’t that encouraging? The God of the universe, in a world of close to 8 billion people, says, “I will teach you everything you need to know to accomplish my special plan for your life, and I will be with you every step of the way.”
That is the type of God He is. Praise God today that He has a special plan for your life and that He has anointed you to fulfill it. Then thank Him that He doesn’t stop there and that He promises to be with you every step of the way. The God you serve abides in you always!
