Desperate for God in Our Relationships

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:33

As believers in Christ, our ultimate goal is to seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness. This means putting Him first in every aspect of our lives, including our relationships. When we are desperate for God, we begin to see our relationships in a different light. We begin to see them as opportunities to show God's love to others and to bring glory to His name.

Being desperate for God in our relationships means seeking His guidance and wisdom in every interaction. We are no longer driven by our own desires or selfish ambitions but by a desire to honor God and serve others. We strive to love as He loves, to forgive as He forgives, and to be patient as He is patient.

In our marriages, being desperate for God means seeking His will for our relationship and striving to become the spouse that He has called us to be. It means loving our spouse selflessly and putting their needs before our own. It means communicating honestly and openly and seeking to resolve conflicts in a way that honors God.

In our friendships, being desperate for God means being intentional about building deep and meaningful relationships with others. It means being a friend who listens, encourages, and speaks the truth in love. It means being willing to forgive and extend grace when others fail us.

Ultimately, being desperate for God in our relationships means recognizing that every relationship is an opportunity to point others to Christ. It means living in a way that reflects His love and character, so that others may come to know Him through us.

As we seek to be desperate for God in our relationships, let us hold onto the promise of Matthew 6:33, that when we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be given to us as well. May we live our lives in such a way that others are drawn to Christ through our words and actions, and may we be a reflection of His love to those around us.
