Extending Grace to Others
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13
Are you quick to judge and slow to forgive? Do you hold onto grudges and refuse to extend grace to others? As followers of Christ, we are called to love and forgive one another, just as the Lord loves and forgives us.
It can be difficult to extend grace to others, especially when we feel that they have wronged us. However, it is important to remember that we too have made mistakes and have been forgiven by the Lord. It is not our place to judge others, but rather to extend love and grace to them, just as the Lord has done for us.
Forgiveness does not mean that we condone the actions of others or that we forget what they have done. Rather, forgiveness is about letting go of the anger and bitterness that can consume us and choosing to extend grace and love instead. When we forgive, we free ourselves from the burden of carrying around the pain and hurt caused by others.
Jesus himself showed us the ultimate act of forgiveness when He died on the cross for our sins. He extended grace to us even though we did not deserve it. As followers of Christ, we are called to extend that same grace to others.
So, the next time you feel anger or bitterness towards someone, remember the grace that has been extended to you by the Lord. Choose to forgive and extend grace to them, just as the Lord has extended grace to you. It may not be easy, but it is worth it.
Remember, extending grace to others is not always easy, but it is necessary if we are to truly love and follow Christ. Let us choose to forgive and extend grace to others, just as the Lord has extended grace to us.
