Resting in God's Work

"He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'" - Psalm 46:10

Because we too often think that we have the ultimate control, it can be challenging to embrace the concept of resting while God works. Yet, Scripture reminds us of the importance of surrendering control and allowing God to do what only He can do.

Consider for a moment the magnitude of God's sovereignty and power. He is the Creator of the universe, the Alpha and the Omega, the one who holds all things together by the power of His word. In light of His greatness, our efforts pale in comparison, and our need for rest becomes evident.

God's command to "be still" is not a suggestion; it's a divine invitation to trust in His sovereignty and acknowledge His lordship over every aspect of our lives. When He commands us to rest, He means it. He doesn't need our frantic efforts to fulfill His plans; He wants our surrender and our trust.

It's a humbling realization to acknowledge our limitations and our need for rest. We are finite beings with finite resources, and we cannot accomplish all that God has planned through our own strength and efforts alone. But that's where faith comes in.

Resting in God's work doesn't mean idleness or apathy; it's an active surrender to His will and His timing. It's a recognition that He is in control, and His plans are far greater than anything we could ever imagine.

As you go about your day, remember the importance of resting while God works. Trust in His timing, His provision, and His perfect plan for your life. Release your grip on control and allow Him to do what only He can do.

In the moments of stillness and surrender, you'll find peace that surpasses understanding and a renewed sense of trust in the God who holds your life in His hands. For when we rest in Him, we discover that His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and His grace is sufficient for all our needs.
