Unearned Love
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
Have you ever considered the depth of God's love for you? It's a love beyond measure, beyond comprehension—a love that surpasses human understanding and defies earthly logic. And yet, it's a love that is freely given, unearned and undeserved.
In a world that often measures worth and value based on achievements and accomplishments, it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we must earn God's love. We may believe that if we do enough good deeds or follow enough rules, then God will love us more. But the truth is, God's love is not based on anything we can do.
Throughout Scripture, God reveals His unfailing love for us time and time again. From Genesis to Revelation, the pages of the Bible resound with the echoes of His love—love that knows no bounds, love that reaches the depths of our souls, love that is freely offered to all who will receive it.
Perhaps the greatest demonstration of God's love is found in the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. God didn't wait for us to earn His love or prove ourselves worthy. Instead, He loved us first, sending His Son to die for our sins so that we might have eternal life through Him.
It's not about us. It's not about what we do or don't do. It's about God—His character, His nature, His boundless grace and mercy. He is the center of it all, and His love for us is unchanging and unconditional.
We must let go of the notion that you must earn God's love. Embrace instead the truth that His love is a gift freely given, offered to you simply because you are His beloved child. And as you bask in the warmth of His love, may you be filled with awe and gratitude for the immeasurable depth of His grace.
