Level Up
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."- 1 Peter 5:10
Adversity is often seen as a setback, but in God's hands, it is a powerful tool for preparation. Sometimes, the challenges we face are God's way of getting us ready for the next phase of His plan. The current version of ourselves may not be equipped for the future He has in store, so He uses adversity to help us "level up."
A great example of this is through the life of Joseph. Joseph faced numerous hardships, from being sold into slavery by his brothers to being wrongfully imprisoned. Each of these adversities could have been seen as setbacks, but in reality, they were stepping stones.
God used these challenges to build Joseph's character, strengthen his faith, and prepare him for a position of great responsibility—second in command over all of Egypt. Without those adverse experiences, Joseph would not have been prepared for the role God had planned for him.
Similarly, God uses adversity in our lives to refine us, to build resilience, and to equip us with the skills and character traits needed for our future. The trials we face today are shaping us for tomorrow.
When we face adversity, it's important to remember that God sees the bigger picture. He knows what lies ahead and understands what we need to be ready for it. The current difficulties you face are not random. They are intentional and purposeful, designed by a loving Father who is preparing you for greater things.
Think of it as spiritual training. Just as an athlete must endure rigorous practice and push beyond their limits to compete at a higher level, we too must undergo spiritual conditioning. The adversities we encounter are like the weights and drills that make us stronger, more capable, and more prepared for what God is bringing us into.
Instead of seeing adversity as an obstacle, view it as an opportunity to grow and get ready for what’s next. Trust that God is using these experiences to mold you, to level you up, and to prepare you for His plans. Embrace the process, knowing that He is with you every step of the way, guiding and equipping you for the future He has prepared.
