Jesus Will Chase You Down

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?" - Luke 15:4

There’s a lot of fear sometimes that we’ll miss what God is doing or that we’ll drift too far away for Him to reach us. But the truth is, no matter how far you think you’ve gone, Jesus will chase you down. He will move heaven and earth to reach you because His love for you is relentless. You are not just one out of a crowd to Him—you are precious, and He will not rest until you are brought back into His arms.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine sheep to go after the one that was lost. That’s how much you matter to Him. He doesn’t just watch from a distance, hoping you’ll figure things out. He actively pursues you, seeking you out when you’ve wandered off. He’ll go to great lengths, through storms and valleys, to find you and bring you back. His love for you is that deep.

Sometimes we get caught up in worrying about whether we’ll miss God, whether we’ll lose sight of His plan for us. But the truth is, He’s never losing sight of “you.” You’re not chasing Him; He’s chasing you. When you’re lost, confused, or far from where you think you should be, Jesus is already on His way to find you. You don’t have to be afraid of being too far gone for Him to reach you.

The question is, when He finds you, will you answer? Will you let Him carry you back, or will you keep running? He won’t force you to come home, but He’ll never stop pursuing you. That’s the power of His love—it’s patient, it’s persistent, and it never gives up.

When you feel like you’re too far off course, or like you’ve missed your chance, remember, Jesus is already chasing after you. Will you let Him find you? He’s ready to bring you back, to restore what was lost, and to lead you into the life He’s prepared for you. All you need to do is answer when He calls.
