For The Long Haul

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9  
  
We often think about faith and obedience in terms of short sprints. It’s a brief period where we trust God, follow His commands, and hope for an immediate reward. But what would happen if we stretched our faith and obedience beyond just the short term? What if we didn’t give up, even when the results weren’t instant, and committed to trusting God for the long haul?

It’s choosing to follow God in the small details of your life, in your thoughts, your actions, your decisions, and your relationships, trusting that each step of obedience is building something far greater than you can see in the moment.
 
So what could this kind of long-term faith and obedience bring? It could bring peace that isn’t shaken by circumstances. It could bring relationships built on trust and integrity. It could bring breakthroughs that you thought were impossible. It could bring a deeper understanding of God’s goodness and faithfulness than you ever imagined. The outcome of long-haul faith and obedience is a life transformed, not by a few moments of faith but by a lifetime of trusting God to write your story.  

God promises that in due season, we will reap if we do not give up. The blessings that come from this kind of faith and obedience may not always be visible right away, but they are guaranteed. When you commit to trusting God not just for the short term, but for the long haul, He will work in ways that exceed your imagination.
