Praising God in the Storm

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." - Romans 12:12

In the turbulent moments of the storms in your life, it’s perfectly natural to question God. He invites us to bring our doubts, fears, and frustrations to Him. The psalmists often cried out in anguish, seeking understanding and clarity amidst their struggles.

God desires an authentic relationship with you, one that allows for honest dialogue and heartfelt questions. However, amid those questions, there lies a powerful opportunity to choose praise.

When you lift your voice in worship, even while facing challenges, you’re making a bold declaration of faith. You’re acknowledging that, despite your circumstances, God is still in control.

Praise becomes a lifeline, reminding you of His goodness and faithfulness. It shifts your focus from the chaos surrounding you to the steadfast nature of God. Instead of being consumed by what seems insurmountable, praising Him allows you to look beyond your present difficulties.

As you face your own storms, remember that your response matters. When you choose to praise God, you’re not only uplifting your spirit but also demonstrating your trust in Him.

God is continually working everything for your good, even when you can’t see it. Your praise serves as a reminder that the storms are temporary, but His love and promises are eternal. By focusing on who He is rather than the circumstances you face, you can find peace in the midst of chaos.

Praising God in the storm doesn’t mean you ignore your feelings or pretend everything is okay. It means recognizing that God is bigger than your troubles. It’s a choice to trust His plan, even when you don’t understand it. It’s a decision to believe that He is weaving a story that will ultimately lead to your good and His glory.

As you navigate the storms of life, embrace the beauty of praise. Allow it to be your anchor, your source of hope, and your way of shifting your focus from the waves crashing around you to the One who commands the sea.

Remember, in every storm, God is present, and He is working on your behalf. Choose to lift your voice in praise, and watch how it transforms your perspective, leading you closer to the heart of the One who holds your future.

Christmas is coming soon. For me this shows me a valuable lesson. Like a child the excitement begins much earlier than Christmas Day. I remember sneaking into the closets and shaking the wrapped gifts trying to find out what it was inside. In anticipation I was so happy and grateful. Wonder what it could be! Knowing with faith that it was amazing. And as a father now, getting these gifts for my children, I learn another valuable lesson. What do I want to see throughout the holiday season and on Christmas Day? I want to see the excitement. The shaking. The gratitude. And when they open their gifts what I receive is their happiness. All I want is for them to be happy and enjoy the gifts I have given them. I think about God. Our Father. And if we were made in His image then He must be even more abundant and gracious then me. How much more does He love us how could what He wants from us be anything less than that and even more so. What a Great God He is.
