Made With Intentionality
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” - Jeremiah 1:5
Did you know you were not only made in the image of God but you were made with intentionality? That is right. God was intentional in how He made you. He did not make any mistakes. From your appearance to your personality, to your mannerisms, to your interests, God made you exactly as He wanted you to be.
And you know what? God not only made you with complete intentionality, but He made others around you the same way. See, we were made different than plant life because we have been made in the image of God. And that leads us to an incredible thought.
There is a moral obligation towards humanity because we have been made in the image of God. Now, you might be asking, what moral obligation do we have? The reason it is important that we recognize there is a moral obligation is that we must see people as people. Humans are humans, made intentionally as they are, by God.
The reason these statements are important is because the moment a person is dehumanized in society, their life is seen as less than, which means we are disposable or of no value, thus inhumane things become permissible. Thus, the founding of American slavery took place.
Listen, no matter who you are, what you look like, or what your beliefs are, you are still a human being. We talked a few days ago about disagreements. Someone might have views that you disagree with. They might come from a different culture than what you grew up in. But that does not make them any less human than you are.
God made every one of us intentionally. He placed us where we are intentionally. And we have a moral obligation to see that, understand that, and embrace that. God made us all intentionally!
