He Knows Everything
“For whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows everything.” - 1 John 3:20
Why should I obey God? Over the last few days, we have looked at the will of God. Sometimes, God’s will (His plans and purposes for our lives) are in conflict with our own will (what we want for our life).
The question is, when what we want isn’t what God wants for us, what should we do? I have continuously said we should choose God’s way over our own way. But why? Well, as we looked at yesterday, God sees everything. He sees your past, present, and future.
But He doesn’t just see everything. He also KNOWS everything. He knows what is going to happen, when it is going to happen, how it is going to happen, and who it is going to happen to.
1 John 3:20 says, “For whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows everything.”
Psalm 147:5 says, “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.”
How could you possibly argue with someone who knows EVERYTHING? He doesn’t just see through the lens you are looking through. He sees the entire picture. The reason you should trust God and His will is because He knows more than you do.
This isn’t a knock on you; you’re just human. And as humans, we can only make a decision with the information we currently have. The problem is, we don’t have all the information. God just wants us to do the best we can. And the best thing we can do is trust His will.
And when His will differs from ours, that is when we should submit to Him. Remember, He sees everything, and He knows everything.
