God Protects You
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” - Proverbs 18:10
As a child of God, there are things God actively does on your behalf. Sometimes, we make the mistake of thinking He is just some distant deity that is up on His throne waiting to reign down judgment on all that do not live up to His law.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth. While there are consequences for all of our actions, God isn’t just sitting there keeping track of rights and wrongs. He is actively working in our lives and on our behalf. He chases us, loves us, pursues us, and directs us. But He also PROTECTS US.
That is right, God is our protector. Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”
You serve a God who chases after you, directs your life, but also protects you every step of the way. As long as you are pursuing the will of God, you cannot escape God’s protection. As you follow Him obediently, He takes full responsibility for your safety.
Sometimes, God will call us into situations or places that we have already decided are “unsafe.” But the truth is, where God leads us, we are always safe. Because it isn’t about what is there, it is about the One who has called us there!
Are you questioning God about something He wants you to do? Maybe you worry it is “unsafe.” You are worried that you might lose something along the way. That if you follow God, you will lose your reputation...you will lose your money...you will lose your home...and you will lose your friends.
Where God calls you, you are safe because He will protect you. The righteous man knows you can run to God because, in Him, you are always safe!
