Your Best
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” - 2 Timothy 2:15
Are you doing your best? Are you becoming the best version of yourself? Are you trying to be the version of yourself that God created you to be? Yesterday, we looked at how God created you exactly as He meant for you to be. We learned that we should love who He made us to be.
That can’t be more true. God created you to be exactly who you are. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, God made you who you are. He wants you to be the person He created you to be.
But this does not mean we are perfect in terms of our actions and behaviors. We can always improve! Now, don’t mistake this for changing who you are. God isn’t asking you to change who He made you to be. He wants you to continue to improve yourself to become the best version of yourself, the version that He intended for you to be all along.
What God wants is for you to reach your full potential, for your good and for His glory. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
God wants your best. He wants you to be the best worker you can be. He wants you to be the best husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister, friend, and co-worker you can be. He wants you to be the best steward of what you have.
God wants your best. He doesn’t just want you to settle for “good enough.” In everything you do, you should be doing it for the glory of God.
Are you giving God your best every day?
