What About Now?

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 3:13-14

Are you living off of yesterday’s successes? Has God blessed you in the past, and you are still hanging on to what God did years ago? I’m not saying don’t be thankful for all that He has blessed you with. But sometimes, we can get stuck in one good (or even great) season of life and forget that God has more in store for us.

We spend so much time talking about the valleys in life, the hard times, the difficult trials, and the challenges that we forget about how life goes on after the mountain tops.

So often, it's about getting to the mountaintop. It’s about waiting for God to bless us or deliver us. But the reality is, life doesn’t end at that mountain top. There is more in store. And though God wants you to enjoy the blessings and deliverance He places upon your life, He doesn’t want you to stay there forever.

He has even more for you ahead! Paul has a great perspective on this. He says in Philippians 3:13-14, “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Listen, you do not have to forget God’s blessings on your life. But you also can’t bask in them forever. God has so much more in store for you. What about now? What are you doing to continue to chase after God’s will for your life?

What are you doing to impact more people for His Kingdom? It is great to soak up His blessings. But there comes a time when vacation ends and it’s back to work. What does God have in store for you next?
