From Him
“For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.” - Romans 11:36
If you have followed along with us the last few days, you have been reminded of the awesomeness of the God we serve. He sent His Son, Jesus, to lay down His life for us. He saved us, He forgives us, and He continues to bless us.
This is not because we deserve it, but because it’s who He is. And that is where I want to shift your focus. Far too often, we place ourselves at the center of the story. But in reality, God is always the center of the story. Romans 11:36 reminds us, “For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Over the next three days, we are going to dive deeper into what this verse means. It first says, for FROM HIM are all things. The truth is, everything you have, you have because of God.
You might say, “No, pastor I earned what I have. I’ve worked hard to provide for my family and it’s because of that work ethic and drive that my family enjoys what they have today.” To which I would say...not so fast.
Who gave you that work ethic? Who opened the doors for you to have the career and job you have now? Who blessed you with the family you have? Who put in the exact location you were born in and where you live now?
It was all HIM. Everything you have is from God. Sometimes we can mistakenly think we are where we are because of our own doing. But never forget who gave you the gifts you have. Who created you with the drive and determination you possess? Don’t forget who aligned all your circumstances to work out the way they have.
For FROM HIM are all things. Thank God for all that He has given you today. It is because of His mercy you have been blessed.
