Just Start
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105
Have you ever found yourself waiting for God to do something before you take that first step? Maybe you’re waiting for a sign, a clear path, or some guarantee that everything will work out. You think, "If God just shows me the way, then I’ll move." But that’s not how it usually works. God doesn’t move until you take that first step in obedience. He has already called you, now it’s your turn to respond.
We often hesitate to act because we want all the answers first. We want to know exactly how things will play out, where God is leading us, and what the end result will be. But faith doesn’t work that way. Faith requires stepping out when you don’t have all the answers, and trusting that God will meet you in your obedience.
God has already done His part by calling you. He has placed a purpose and a plan in your life, and He’s waiting for you to respond. But the longer you wait for Him to show you every detail before you move, the longer you’ll be stuck in the same place. God often begins to move in your life the moment you decide to step out in faith. It’s when you take that first step of obedience that He starts to guide you.
You might not have all the answers, and that’s okay. You don’t need to know exactly where God is leading you. All you need to do is start. Just take the first step and let Him guide you along the way. God’s word is a lamp to your feet, not a floodlight that shows the entire path. He’ll give you enough light for the next step, and as you continue to obey, He’ll reveal more of the plan.
You’ll never regret obeying God, but obedience doesn’t start with thinking about it or making plans. It starts with action. It starts when you stop waiting for perfect conditions and decide to move. So if God has placed something on your heart, just start. Take that step. You’ll be amazed at how He begins to work once you do.
Don’t wait for everything to make sense or for the path to be perfectly clear. Trust that God will lead you, one step at a time, as you walk in obedience.

Amen Pastor Ed! Our prayer group prayer today was that we would go back to what God told us to do go back and pick it back up. I received this message from one of my sisters in Christ who her and I both attend the re-engage close group with our husbands. I am convinced of who God has called my husband to be and so is he! One of our conversations in our group was very encouraging for us all but especially to my husband. He was encouraged to start right where he is, and then I get this message today from my beautiful sister in Christ to share with my amazing husband. God always knows what to say and when to say it to His children. Thanks for this
ntimely word. God Bless?
